Galang: Yes, absolutely. I won the marble in spoon race.

Galang’s Father: Nice. Congratulations!

Galang: Thank you, Dad. By the way, what game did you join when celebrating Independence Day?

Galang’s Father: Panjat Pinang. My team got many prizes from climbing the Pinang tree!

Galang: Wow! Amazing.  Dad, please tell me more about the Panjat Pinang.

Galang’s Father: At that time, the committee put a lot of prizes on top of the tree—like sarongs, groceries, a radio, TV, and even a bike.

Galang: Wow! It’s really hard to climb, isn’t it?

Galang’s Father: Oh yes, it is. The tree was full of grease—really slippery.

Galang: Did you get to the top of the tree?

Galang’s Father: At first, I didn’t. Many climbers also failed to climb up because the tree was slippery. That was the funniest part, though—we just kept sliding down.

Galang: Did you give up?

Galang’s Father: No, we never gave up—no way.

Galang: So, what did you do then?

Galang’s Father: First, we made a human ladder and wiped off the grease bit by bit—slow and steady.

Galang: Then, what?

Galang’s Father: One of us finally got to the top and threw the prizes to the ground—everyone was cheering, it was amazing.
